Having found that the young children were being moved to Nedelea we have decided to follow the children and support them at Nedelea.

Nedelea is a huge building and is presently being revamped. It will take in all sorts of children in State care, including orphans abandoned children and those undergoing 'correctional training'! But above all, its is going to be full of CHILDREN all wanting a better quality of life.

All this should be a reality in late 2001.

With a little spare time, we also saw places such as Casa Rosi in URLATI, which is close to Ploiesti, the oil city of Romania.

We also saw the State CAN look after its own children and young adults. The school pictured here at Casa Rosi was a happy place with laughing children, as it should be.

We also visited the baby unit in Ploiesti where 100 infants, ranging from new-born to toddlers were housed. This light and airy place hosted 2% orphans and 98% of abandoned kids. Mothers would never see their children and families would never know the children existed. Most of the abandoned children were born in State run hospitals but the mothers had no choice but to walk away after birth because the future for mother and child was bleak to say the least.
